I need help solving this inequality 4x + 1 < 8x-3<4x+5

OpenStudy (ranga):

First take the left inequality, 4x + 1 < 8x-3 and solve it for x Then take the right inequality, 8x-3<4x+5and solve it for x Then combine the solutions for x.

I get the answer 1 <x <2 is that correct?

OpenStudy (phi):

for the first inequality 4x + 1 < 8x-3 add -4x to both sides 4x - 4x + 1 < 8x -4x -3 simplify both sides 1 < 4x - 3 add +3 to both sides 1+3 < 4x -3 + 3 simplify 4 < 4x divide both sides by 4 1 < x so that looks good

OpenStudy (phi):

8x-3<4x+5 4x -3 < 5 4x < 8 x < 2 that looks good too. answer is x>1 and x<2 which can be written as 1 < x < 2
