10th term of (x+2y)^12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can use binomial expansio, the formula is \[(a+b)^{n} = \sum_{k=0}^{n} nCk a ^{n-k}b ^{k}\] and to find the tenth term, using the number 9 (replace number "k" with 9) \[(12C9) (x ^{12-9})(2y)^{9}\]

if you want to find the fifth term --> replace number k with 4 to find fourth term --> replace with 3, etc
