What is the probability of obtaining tails and a three?

You need to be more specific so we can help you. Do you mean what is the probability of obtaining tails when you flip one coin once, and what is the probability of getting a three if you are dealt one card? Or do you have more than one coin?

you have one die and you toss one coin. there isn't any card

Basically if I remember right, if you are using the word 'AND', you multiply their probabilities. Prob. of getting any side of a die is 1/6. Prob. of getting tails is 1/2. 1/6 times 1/2 is 1/12. If you are looking for the prob of getting tails OR a three, then you add their probabilities. I think I'm right about this.
