When we count the amino acids in a gene, do we count the stop codon as well?

thomaster (thomaster):

I guess so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are not sure...??

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

no..we do not count d stop codon...because we r counting the amino acid and no amino acid corresponds to a stop codon...so total no of amino acids is starting from met till the amino acid just before the stop codon..:)
