Help with part 3 only!! The table below shows the values of y for each value of x. x y 0 1 1 2 2 3 3 3 Part A: Does the table represent a relation that is a function? Justify your answer by using the values shown in the table. Part B: The function f(h) shown below represents a plumber's total charges, inclusive of call out charges, for h hours of work. f(h) = 70h + 50 Calculate and interpret the meaning of f(2). Part C: Write an ordered pair to represent the input and output of the function in Part B when the plumber works for d hours.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

That's kind of a tricky play on words... Well an ordered pair is obviously (x,y) (input, output) What we INPUT ...is the number of hours...which they donate here to be 'd'....so that would mean x = d.. What we get for an OUTPUT is whatever the function equals at that 'd' hours...so just like at 2 hours it is f(2) this would be f(d) so this means our ordered pair would be \[\large (d , f(d))\] From my understanding...

oh okay. Thank you, but do I have to find the numbers or just leave it like that? Sorry, i'm new to this. @johnweldon1993

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

No need to apologize :) and well the thing is...they have yet to provide you with the hours so there is nothing to find with any numbers...you already solved for 2 hours in part B...part C just asks for a general input output coordinate from what I see...so I would leave it like that...

oh okay thank you so much again! @johnweldon1993
