How is osmosis related to diffusion?

OpenStudy (forevershorty):
Osmosis is related to diffusion by the transfer of water molecules. Both processes transfer the molecules from a compact space to a larger space. The difference is that osmosis is done through a permeable membrane. Diffusion doesn't need anything for it to happen.
