Geometry Please help me .. Jayden is debating whether to use a straight edge and compass or a computer drawing program to complete the construction of an equallateral triangle inscribed in a circle, which method would you recommend if his goal is to complete the construction in the least amount of time ? Why would you recommend that method ? Describe the differences between the steps headed for each method and provide 2 reasons your method is the best one to choose.

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'd say the easiest way would be with the compass and straightedge. Draw a circle with the compass. Keeping the compass set just as it is, strike off six arcs along the circumference of the circle. With the straightedge, draw three lines connecting every other arc. (For example, if we had labeled the six arcs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 then the 3 lines would connect 1 to 3 , 3 to 5 and 5 to 1.) Why do I recommend this method and why is it the best one? It is easy. Also, the ease of construction makes it quite easy to draw with the fewest mistakes. wolf1728 www.1728.org
