simplifying question posting
q^5r^3p^4/q^4r^5p^7
\[\frac{q^5r^3p^4}{q^4r^5p^7}\]subtract exponents when dividing.
q/r^2*p^7
ok that's what i thought didn't know if i multiplied or suntracted
Why are you giving out answers without any explanations @M0j0jojo?
cuz he explained it
so qr^-2p^-3?
Lets say\[\frac{a^3}{a^2}=a^{3-2}=a~~\]
its ok this is just me making a problem up from a test i have to retake for college placement
and it had something like what i put and said simplifiy
Ok, when you simplify fractional exponents, I'll give you an example
ok cool thanks
\[\frac{a^4b^3c^2}{a^2b^3c^7}\] lets work each variable separately, for a, \[\frac{a^4}{a^2},~~~~->~~~~a^{4-2}~~~~->~~~~a^2\]so it would be\[a^2~~~on~~~t op.\]
so a2bc-5?
with the numbers eing exponetes
Now, for variable b, \[\frac{b^3}{b^3}~~~~~->~~~~b^{3-3}~~~~->~~~~b^{0}=1\]so the exponent canceled completely and it just disappeared. For variable c, \[\frac{c^2}{c^7}=c^{2-7}=c^{-5}~~~~~~~same~~as~~~~~\frac{1}{c^5}\] (just like any \[a^{-b}=\frac{1}{a^b}~~~)\] so you would have \[\frac{a^2}{c^5}~~~~~~~~~~~~~~MAKES~~~SENSE?\]
ahhh ok yes i have a couple more questions if you had time?
Yes, but, lets see if you can do them.... I'll correct and guide you. Go! Ask!
this isn't a test just study guide for P.E.R.T they give answer just not how to do it
Can you do it, using the technics I used in my example?
is it just 3x^3y?
@SolomonZelman
You got it!

awesome thank you ok if you want ill post some more when i find some if i need a refresh thank you so much for the help
Anytime!
