Which of these travels the fastest through a medium? atom photon sound electron

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sound

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait wtf is a median...i would say sound because well sound travel fast even under water*.*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

medium is like the material it travels through

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok!!:D Then yes I beleive its sound becuz sound can't be effected unless well*.*its effected but i beleive your choose is sound

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okk haha thankss

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Light travels much faster than sound through any medium. Light is the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is why you see the lightning flash well before the thunder reaches you. In fact, can estimate the distance if you count the seconds, with about 5 seconds delay per mile.

OpenStudy (xishem):

I think the question is asking which travels the faster through a medium than through a vacuum — in which case, the answer would be sound (since sound can't travel at all through vacuum).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They all would travel faster than sound in a vacuum. Photons go at the speed of light, which even in water is very fast! Granted, the others travel faster in non-vacuum than vacuum.
