MEDAL GIVEN TO CORRECT ANSWER. A circus performer is shot out of a cannon and into a net with an acceleration of 1.5 g. What is her acceleration in meters per second squared when she hits the net? A. -11.3 m/s2 B. -9.8 m/s2 C. -1.5 m/s2 D. -14.7 m/s2

Actually, you cannot tell from this information. It would depend on the elasticity of the net, how it absorbs her kinetic energy. We'll assume the teacher wants you to know that gravity is g=9.8 m/s2 and that 1.5g=14.7m/s and that it is against the original direction of motion, so needs a minus sign, thus -14.7m/s.
