How Do You Algebraically Solve This Problem: 2 Different Moving Van Companies Are Being Compared. Company A Cost $30 Each Mile Company B Cost 5500 And After Traveling 250 Miles The Cost Goes Up $35 Every Mile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write a cost equation for both companies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for company A: cost = 30 (x) , let x = number of miles

How Would You Set Up The Equation For Company B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im guessing that it costs 5500 for the first 250 miles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then cost goes up 35$ every mile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the question is weirdly worded but this is whati think Company b: cost = 5500 + 35x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't the 35x go up every time instead of just after the 250?
