OpenStudy (neo92):

You can use simple trigonometric ratios to solve this. Did you try this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did but i didnt get the right answer

OpenStudy (neo92):

tell me what you did so I can tell u where you made the mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did sin. but since there was no degree i did sin11=x over 20

OpenStudy (neo92):

|dw:1386043942126:dw| Thatz where you made the mistake. sine ratio is defined as \[\frac{ opposite side }{ hypotaneuse}\] according to the figure I have drawn here it is \[sinA = \frac{ BC }{ AC } = \frac{ a }{ b }\]

OpenStudy (neo92):

In your problem x is the angle. So you have to write trigonometric ratios for the angle. You cant write trig ratios for sides

OpenStudy (neo92):

can you understand what Im telling?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (neo92):

can u write sine, cos ratios for the triangle I have drawn?
