How do you convert 4 1/4 as a percent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Part" divided by "whole" then multiplied by 100 gives a percent. So if I ate 2 candies out of a total of 4, to calculate the percent I ate: (2/4) times 100. This equals (0.5)(100) which is 50%. Is the 4 1/4 part of something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

425%?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[4\frac{ 1 }{ 4 }\] ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/4 0.25*100 25%
