Technically you would subtract 8 from both sides, that would give you -2x = -7 which equals 3.5. (divide -2x/-2 = -7/-2)

soooo...

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yea idk Ask @kelliegirl33

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Even if you were to change 1 to -1 it would still give you a decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|-2x + 8| = 1 -2x + 8 = 1 -(-2x + 8) = 1 -2x = 1 - 8 2x = 1 - 8 -2x = -7 2x = -7 x = 7/2 x = -7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huhhhh

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Exact same thing I did lol its gives you 3.5. If it were 2x + 8 = -1 -8 -8 -2x = -9 .... still is a decimal :/
