sec(t)^2 - tan(t)^2 = 1 sec(t) = 1 / cos(t) sec(arctan(3/4))^2 - tan(arctan(3/4))^2 = 1 sec(arctan(3/4))^2 - (3/4)^2 = (4/4)^2 sec(arctan(3/4))^2 - 9/16 = 16/16 sec(arctan(3/4))^2 = 25/16 sec(arctan(3/4)) = 5/4 1/sec(arctan(3/4)) = 1 / (5/4) cos(arctan(3/4) = 4/5
