It's either 2 or 5. There have been a whole lot less casualties than 'Nam but also far less news coverage... American people have way more to worry about nowadays than war.

I think any of those answers could be correct. However, I would go with 1 or 3.

People are more afraid of terrorism because the terrorism has hit us.

The recent wars WERE much more necessary as they did affect us.
