Your friend hands you a graph of the performance statistics of the newest car to roll off the assembly line. He says "I know this is a translated graph of either x3 or x4, but I can't figure out which one." Using complete sentences, explain to your friend how to tell if it is an even or odd function, and how to determine the amount the graph has been translated.

Even function: f(-x) = f(x) Odd function: f(-x) = -f(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I determine the amount the graph has been translated?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could I say if it is an odd function it is translated to the negative side of the graph and if it is an even function it is on the positive side of the graph
