I have a mac and downloaded python and idle but can't figure out how to use them together...really new to this stuff and OCW... thanks!

i have a mac and i downloaded them(i got the 3.3 version) and i just open idle and it works fine i dont think you are supposed to open python launcher. for me a preferences list pops up and does nothing. I might be wrong but just try opening idle and if it doesn't work try getting another version.

I installed an IDE on my machine called Eclipse, which is free and located here: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ Additionally, you'll need to install PyDev on your machine.
