Graph each pair of parametric equations. (2 points each) x = 3 sin3t y = 3 cos3t AND GRAPH x = 7 sin t + sin 7t y = 7 cos t + cos 7t A STEP BY STEP WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL, NEW TO THIS LESSON

OpenStudy (xishem):

If you're ever unsure about what an equation looks like, just pick points that seem relevant and plot them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats just it everything about parametric equations confuse me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea where to start

OpenStudy (xishem):

\[x=3\sin(3t) \\ y=3\cos(3t)\]Is just a set of equations with input t. Choose various values for t and plot the corresponding (x,y) points.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thats it,?

OpenStudy (xishem):

Yep. All parameterising does is link x and y to a single variable t.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if i chose 5 it would be 5=3sin(3(5)) or no?

OpenStudy (xishem):

If t=5, then:\[x=3\sin(3*5)\\ y=3\cos(3*5)\]So you get the point:\[<x,y>=<3\sin(15),3\cos(15)>\]
