How can speciation of plants benefit humans?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

speciation allows humans to develop plants that have their desired attributes and to develop advantageous attributes.Say you want a pink rose for your garden. You might breed a red rose with a white rose to get a progeny of a pink rose. This is speciation. It can occur naturally due to natural factors (like a group of shee being split up from one another due to a river so they only reproduce among themselves) or facilitated like selective breeding. :) Hope this helped.

a couple of examples of good benefits are producing plants with a higher amount of a substance like vitamins or a physical characteristic, or a resistance to an outside factor like breeding a weak plant and a strong plant make the weak plant's offspring stronger.
