How does 18x+4/6x simplify to 9x+2/3x ?? (according to my textbook )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. factor out the two in the numerator to get: \[\frac{ (2)(9x+2) }{ 6x }\] 2. cancel out the two with the six: \[\frac{ 9x+2 }{ 3x }\] make sense?

Thanks :)
