A plane is heading west at 200 mph. The wind is blowing S30degreesW at 25 mph. Im just wondering how to set this up and find the ground speed, the angles, and the bearing of the plane.

hard to type this one....imagine you're studying vectors....I would draw a vector going west and mark it as 200. From the end of that vector I'd draw my wind vector, which seems to be 30 degrees south of west. So, the vector from the origin to the end of the wind vector will give you the direction and magnitude of the plane. You will need a little trig to figure this out.....hope this is helpful in setting your problem up

O ok. Im drawing a sketch of it now.

Thank you.
