Can someone please help me (: Asap! I really need help and an explanation on how to do this.
@skullpatrol @amistre64
Usually, a point on a graph is (x,y) yeah? :D
@mysticghost ?
Yes i know that. But i dont understand how to get the ordered pair using a function.
Okay so, it says that y = f(x) So we can write the point on the graph ALSO as (x,f(x)) Right? :D
Okay, so is it B?
Hold on to that for a while, I'll come to that in a minute. But tell me if you understood my previous reply properly! Did you?
Okay! and I think i did.
Alrighty! So x = b-2 [Those are just some lame numbers, to get you all confused] And we know that the point on the graph or the ORDERED PAIR = (x,f(x)) So if x = b-2 and point = (x,f(x)) We can also say, the point is: (b-2, f(b-2)) Understood? :)
Yes thank you (: can you help me with 2 more questions if you dont mind (:
I do not actually. But I suggest you break your head on it for a while, first and then ask me. :)
I have for the past 3 weeks lol but for some reason i just barely understand it. math is real hard for me anyway here it is. im not sure about the second one but the first one i got an answer idk if i did it right or wrong though
First one is right. Good job. :)
Yay! haha. Could you explain me the second one?
Sure, just one sec.
n> 1 means that to find the answer it is better to take values greater than 1. Starting off with 2 and then 3 and then 4....... So, the equation says this. f(n) = -4*f(n-1) - 3*f(n-2) Now let us take n = 2 f(2) = -4*f(2-1) - 3*f(2-2) = -4*f(1) - 3*f(0) Now you ARE GIVEN THAT f(0) = -5 f(1) = 20 So let us put the values in f(2) :) f(2) = -4*f(1) - 3*f(0) = -4*20 - 3*-5 = -80 + 15 = -65. So f(2) = -65 :D
Now you'd have to calculate f(3) in the series. And you have the values of f(1) and f(2) so what do you think f(3) will be? Do it by the method I showed you. :)
Okay! I think understand better this really helped me thanks! (:
