can't read the whole equation, but whatever it is, set it equal to zero and solve for \(t\)
OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):
Question why 0?
OpenStudy (zpupster):
h(t) = -16t2 + 16t + 5 that got cut off some

OpenStudy (zpupster):
so
Multiply by -1,
16t² - 16t - 5 = 0
(4t - 5)(4t + 1) = 0
4t - 5 =0
t = 5/4 or 1 1/4
OpenStudy (zpupster):
youi can ignore the negative
4t + 1 = 0
t = -1/4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
h(t) = height at time t
when h(t) = 0, the height is zero (the ground).
you want to find the t at which h(t) = 0
OpenStudy (zpupster):
i just solved it.
mult by -1 like above
and then factor
(4t - 5)(4t + 1) = 0
set both binomials to zero and solve
the answer was 1 1/4 or 1.25
OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):
Sorry back
