A spherical solid aluminum ball of radius 0.02 m is compressed by a force that is applied perpendicularly through out its entire surface area. If its volume changed by 1e-9 m 3, calculate the magnitude of the force? (modulus = 2.5e10 Pa

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A volume change of 1 x 10-9 m3 is a linear change in the radius of the cube root of this, 1 x 10-3 m or the fractional change of 0.05=5%. I believe the modulus relates the fractional change to the applied pressure.
