In a society in which we are always moving forward, always in our heads - thinking about work, thinking about deadlines, thinking about how to survive, in a society governed by technology - we fail to slow down to look around. It is not right to say that we lack sympathy, we do have sympathy, but we fail to see and notice people who need help and sympathise with them. More than often, we remain caring about our well-being, with no time to stop and sympathise. Sympathy can affect our society, it can groom the society to be one where people do connect and bond. It can foster friendships, it can make society more close - make people closer to each other. Because sympathizing with people - we can understand the problems others face, we can think of ways to help and at the same time, reflect. We can reflect about ourselves, seeing if we need to change - once witnessing the problems others face, we'd have the inclination to assess ourselves.
