The porifera do not have gut but porifera have lumen in which you can have countless opening.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
They don't have a gut but they have a lumen, but it is not a gut. Overall, they have numerous openings, hence the term porifera in reference to pores. There are two types of opening: the smaller ostia, which draw in water from the bottom and sides; and the osculum at the top where the water flows out.
