There are many major forces that shape the earth. Two of these forces are wind and water. Wind and water shape the earth by erosion which happens over thousands of years. One famous example of both wind and water erosion is the Grand Canyon. The canyon was carved out by the Colorado River over a long period of time. Wind also played a huge part in shaping and transforming the rocks in the canyon. Many mountains and valleys were formed by these forces.
