if there are 10 numbers of xs on the top and 8 number of Xs on the bottom the 8 of the 10 Xs from the top will cancel out and u are left with 10-8 =2 Xs

similariy when u have A number of Xs on top and B number of Xs on bottom then B of the A number of Xs will cancel out and you will be left with A-B number of Xs
