Algebra 2//PLEASE HELP ME...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two fellow students, Theo and Paula, have added two rational expressions. They ended up at different answers so they have asked you to check their work. Please explain to them any errors that you find. Theo Paula Wally knows that in order to add or subtract rational expressions, he has to find the least common denominator first. Unfortunately, he can not remember how to do that. Using complete sentences, explain to Wally how to find least common denominators. Make sure you clearly explain any important items to consider. Wally is very thankful for your help, but he is still stuck. Describe to Wally how adding and subtracting rational expressions is similar to adding and subtracting simple fractions, and how they are different.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think there is any difference between rational expessions and fractions since any number that can be written in foprm of a/b rational

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those are 3 different questions... can you help me with each one and i can reward you?:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@briankiggz please? :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that the answer to #1? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about #2? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are several mistakes theo's mistake was multiplying top and bottom of the expression \[\frac{2x+5}{(x-5)(x+2)}\] by \(x+2\) the denominator already has an \(x+2\) in it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

paula's mistake was cancelling an addition

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also she factored the numerator incorrectly in the expression on the right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are yall still on #1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@briankiggz @satellite73 ??
