First find the length of CD from triangle ACD. Using the pythagorean theorem. 15^2 + b^2 = 17^2 225 + b^2 = 289 b^2 = 64 b = 8 CD = 8 Then find the length of CB via pythagorean theorem as well. 15^2 + b^2 = 25^2 225 + b^2 = 625 b^2 = 400 b = 20 CB = 20 CB - CD = DB 20 - 8 = 12 length of db is 12.
