OpenStudy (esshotwired):

I have not heard of it before, but this is what I found: http://www.clt.astate.edu/jbonner/BAROQUE%20CONCERTO.htm The Baroque Concerto is one of the most enduring instrumental genres in western music.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not sure about this im sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are threee types of baroque concertos though

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

Do you know what they are ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. - solo concerto was composed for one instrument, usually the piano or a string instrument, and an orchestra. - grosso concerto was written for two or more soloists accompanied by an orchestra. - Orchestral concertos were performed by a single orchestra applying the same principles of contrasting instruments as did the solo and grosso concertos. All three types of concerto share a common compositional structure, style, and execution.

OpenStudy (timaashorty):

. Why is Bach important to the history of Western Music?

OpenStudy (toxicsugar22):

DO YOU KNOW

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

Bach wrote in all the major styles, forms, and genres of his time except for opera. http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/onlineex/musicmanu/bach/ look here too

OpenStudy (esshotwired):

JS Bach's set of 48 Preludes and Fugues, spanning all 24 major and minor keys twice each, is one of the cornerstones of Western art music. Bach's preludes and fugues for keyboard are one of the landmarks of western classical music. For each major and minor key of the 12 notes of the scale there is a free-flowing prelude, followed by a tightly-constructed fugue, totalling 24 preludes and 24 fugues. He wrote two such sets, making 48 in all. They are often referred to as 'the 48', or by the more general title 'The Well-Tempered Clavier'. Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) is one of the great composers in Western musical history.
