Please help! I really don't understand. Write the equation in standard form: 4x – 3 = 5y
Okay do you know how to change something into standard form?
Not really, I'm drawing a blank on how to do this.
okay give me a minute to solve it then i'll explain it to you okay?
is this algebra?
@HarukaN ????????
yeah it's algebra
sorry i was making food xD
@Loveless13
standard form of a linear equation: ax + by = c so you want to get all the terms with variables to one side so for 4x – 3 = 5y add 3 to both sides then subtract 5y from both sides
are you getting it in slope form? or no?
the question asked for "standard form"
but is he changing it from slope form into standard form
I don't really think "4x – 3 = 5y" is in any form really... and the point was to get it to standard form. what form is starts out as does not really affect the out come
okay one question about the way you solved it. Is that okay?
why did you subtract 5y from both sides instead of 4x?
it's a preference thing :P I like to have my x values positive and on the left side it does equate to the same answer in the end either way.
true. So yea @HarukaN @jigglypuff314 is right.
