our school plans to buy hamburgers for the school fun day. It will cost $270 for each student to have a hamburger. Each hamburger costs about $3. Your school only has $124 in the cash fund. Using the inequality 124+x>=270 , find how much money the school will need in order for each student to have a hamburger.

OpenStudy (doggy):

>= (means greater than or equal to..)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

124 + x >= 270 --- subtract 124 from each side x >= 270 - 124 x >= 146

OpenStudy (doggy):

ooohhhhh, thank you!! i didn't know how to do this at all, thank you so munch :3

you solve them pretty much like equations except for the rule that when multiply/dividing an inequality by a negative number, the inequality sign changes
