OpenStudy (annie96):

4. Solve, using the substitution method. y – 2x = 8 16 + 4x = 2y (Points : 1) The solution is (24, 0). The solution is (1, 10). There is no solution. There are an infinite number of solutions. Question 5.5. Solve, using the substitution method. y = 3x + 5 4x – y = 5 (Points : 1) (10, 35) (15, 10) There are an infinite number of solutions. There is no solution.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

y = 2x + 8 simplify the second one by dividing by 2.. so your new system is: y = 2x + 8 8 + 2x = y substitute for y and solve for x. then plug in the value of x into one of the equations to get y.
