Can anyone help me facto this so that I can find the root? Please factor 2x^3+6x^2-2x-6....... steps would great. For some reason I am struggling with factoring anything that I can't evenly pull from

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Factor by grouping to get... 2x^3+6x^2-2x-6 (2x^3+6x^2)+(-2x-6) 2x^2(x+3)+(-2x-6) 2x^2(x+3)-2(x+3) (2x^2-2)(x+3) 2(x^2-1)(x+3) 2(x^2-1^2)(x+3) 2(x-1)(x+1)(x+3) ... use the difference of squares rule here ------------------------------------------------------- So 2x^3+6x^2-2x-6 factors to 2(x-1)(x+1)(x+3)
