solve using substitution? y=-3x+4 and -6x-2 y+=8 I got to -6x-2(-3x+4)=-8 -6x-6x+8=-8 what do i do after that?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

-6x-2 y+=8 or -6x-2 y+=- 8 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6x-2 y+=- 8

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf -6x-2(-3x+4)=-8\implies \cancel{-6x+6x}-8=-8\)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

which means, infinite solutions, because, if you solve the 2nd one, you'd end up with the 1st one, because they're really the same equation which means the graph will be one line pancaked over the other, meaning infinite solutions
