Does sugar or salt dissolve faster in water?

thomaster (thomaster):

Salt dissolves faster because it is an ionic compound and a smaller molecule than sugar. Ionic compounds dissociate into ions in water. Sugar is a molecular compound and will not dissociate, it just dissolves. Next time post questions like these in the chemistry group.

OpenStudy (rina.r):

salt, its ion dissociate more rapidly in water than sugar molecule does.
