It all depends on your taste, there is no one single composer, only one whose compositions where maybe the most well known. In my opinion Vivaldi remains the best for me, because of his mid to late Baroque influence. His Four Seasons are widely recognized, and his Violin concertos express emotion quite well.

Beethoven is probably to most well known for his famous 5th and 9th symphony, with the famous "da da da duuuuun" in the 9th portrayed as the knock of death, widely used as a "Terror" sound.

I love the Four Seasons! You are right in how it influenced the Baroque period. Renaissance music can be very nice too. I also the like "Water Music" song. I forget if that was its real name @triton

Hmmmm are you referring to the water suite by Handel? Those are very nice too! Handel also is quite a well known composer!
