Ok, so we have positive 5.3 and negative 3x. A positive number times a negative number is always negative. (+ times - = -). Therefore, \[5.3*(-3x) = -3*5.3*x = -15.9x\]. Now we are going to subtract 20x: \[-15.9x - 20x = -35.9x\], which is the answer :)
