With flvs school, do they explain everything through a video first, or is it a bunch of reading?

They do have videos to help you when needed. But most is reading. :)

I should have mentioned that I'm talking about algebra. Do they show how to do that with a video, or is that mostly reading too?

Both. The lesson is reading and then they have help videos if you didn't understand the lesson.

Mostly reading and pictures But THey show you in at least one in each lesson and then you practice on the problems in the lesson before moving on to do the assignment
