Can anyone help me find rules from a function table sequence?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i can get to a second tier difference of multipliers

OpenStudy (amistre64):

1x1 = 1 2x4 = 8 3x9 = 27 4x16 = 64 1 4 9 16 3 5 7 2 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no pattern, do you the admins made a mistake ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think ^

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you either need to develop a rule that will match those 4 specific points, or find some pattern that fits. not all patterns are arithmetic or geometric

OpenStudy (anonymous):

none of the written solutions matched

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how would i know what matches or not?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol, y = x^3 ... man im putting way to much effort into these things

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i knew it looked familar :/ oh well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks bro

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yep

OpenStudy (amigatour):

Amistre, excellent! I'm also working in similar problems. I drew a graph and it's very steep. Lol. I tried many formulas and didn't work.

OpenStudy (amigatour):

Now, when I checked back, it's f(x)=x^3. Haha!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:)
