B. Observe several cases of people ordering food of varying spice-levels and number of soft drinks ordered.

C. Pick two points on the dot plot and find a line of best fit.

D. 
Find the correlation coefficient to see how well the line of best fit actually fits the data.

Well this is math, so you can root out any hippie dippie methods like A and B. Seeing is not good enough. For C, if you just pick two points, they could be any two points, they could be random people on medication for all you know, so thats not good enough, so the only thing that would be a good first step is :D
