OpenStudy (shamil98):

The triangle with y is a 45-45-90 triangle, do you know the special right triangle theorem?

OpenStudy (umarsback):

yeah its x,x,sqrt2?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

correct. so H = 3√2 and if H = L√2 L = ?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

oh oops thats a leg*

OpenStudy (shamil98):

h = y L = 3√2

OpenStudy (shamil98):

H = L√2 H = (3√2)*√2

OpenStudy (umarsback):

so H = 6?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Yep, sorry OS was restarting i guess.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

You that the leg of the triangle with y ,is 3√2 and that its legs are congruent because it is an isosceles 45-45-90 triangle. that leg is also the hypotenuse for the triangle with x so this time h=x 3√2 = x 3√2 = L√2

OpenStudy (umarsback):

H for x = 8.4

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Just divide the √2 to both sides to get , and i made an error L = x , not h =x , sorry im sleep deprived -.-

OpenStudy (shamil98):

3√2/√2 = 3 x = 3 L = 3 l = x
