Algebra 2 Help. I'll give medal!

OpenStudy (lexipoo1998):

Identify the oblique asymptote of f(x) = quantity 2 x squared plus 3 x plus 8 over quantity x plus 3

OpenStudy (lexipoo1998):

@ChristopherToni Can you help me when you get back online? Thanks

Directrix (directrix):

Check to see if (x + 3) is a factor of (2x^2 + 3x + 8). I don't think it is.

Directrix (directrix):

If not, then divide (2x^2 + 3x + 8) by (x + 3). y = the quotient (ignore remainder) should give the equation of the oblique asymptote.

OpenStudy (lexipoo1998):

Once you divide what should you of gotten? cuz I think I did something wrong

Directrix (directrix):

(2x^2 + 3x + 8)/(x+3) @lexipoo1998 |dw:1386554321998:dw|
