ajl: Could you possibly type these functions in using the Equation Editor (below)? There's ambiguity in what you've already typewritten; using appropriate math symbolism would make the problem clearer for you as well as for a potential helper.

Example of ambiguities: All of the functions above seem to have more than one variable: x and n, x and g, x and a and b, x and b and a. If this is the case, we could simplify the work involved by agreeing that x (like y and z) is a VARIABLE and a, b, c, d, etc., are just CONSTANTS.

What is YOUR understanding here?

Also needing clarification: by "3x4" do you mean base 3 raised to the fourth power (which is 81), or do you mean 3 times 4 (which is 12), or something else entirely?
