grub is a boot manager.  It's probably pointed to by the MBR (Master Boot Record).  There are a couple of commands that will manipulate the MBR.  They're available from the Recovery Console.

Errors in the MBR are very, very bad.  This is definitely not a good place to be fiddling around if you're not knowledgeable and confident.
