OpenStudy (lucaz):

if you play 3 dice of 6 sides, what is the probability of getting 16 or more(total sum)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sum or product total?

OpenStudy (lucaz):

sum

OpenStudy (lucaz):

I found 5/108

OpenStudy (lucaz):

adding P(16)+P(17)+P(18)=(6+3+1)/216

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can get: 6, 6, 6 = 18 6, 6, 5 = 17 6, 6, 4 = 16. I am not sure if order does matter in this case or not, but I will presume that order does not matter. 18 is the largest possible sum to get with rolling a 6-sided fair die 3 times. I am still working through how you would express the total number of possible combinations of sums, but there's something to get you started for now.

OpenStudy (lucaz):

I was confused about the order too =/

OpenStudy (lucaz):

thanks..
