inverse or not? check my answer please??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -x and -x for the answers. Does this mean they are inverses of each other??

hartnn (hartnn):

they would be inverses of each other only if f(g(x)) and g(f(x)) would be +x only not when -x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the rule if you end up with the same answers then it is inverse?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh okay thank you. my teacher said that but I didnt know if it was also for -x

hartnn (hartnn):

only for +x both must be +x , nothing else welcome ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if another function pair was -4 , -4 or -4 , +4 It is still not an inverse correct?

hartnn (hartnn):

the function would be constant to get f(g) or g(f) = constant. and yes, anything apart from +x , not inverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks
