OpenStudy (alyssajobug):

Can someone explain the difference please??? What is the difference between ∪ and ∩?!?! I don't understand...

OpenStudy (alyssajobug):

So, ∪ is union and ∩ is intersection then?

hartnn (hartnn):

taking an example A = {a,b,c,d}, B = {b,d,f,h} ∩ is INTERSECTION = common elements A∩B = {b,d} U mean UNION = elements present in all sets (all elements considered only once) AUB = {a,b,c,d,f,h} makes sense ?

OpenStudy (alyssajobug):

This is intersection then right?

hartnn (hartnn):

intersection of what ?

OpenStudy (alyssajobug):

No, then its would be union then?

OpenStudy (alyssajobug):

This is my question, I dont quite understand the difference between the answers tho...

hartnn (hartnn):

OR = UNION AND = INTERSECTION

hartnn (hartnn):

since OR = U = UNION, its either 1st or 3rd so, x-2 <1 clearly gives x <3

OpenStudy (alyssajobug):

Ok, I think I get it now... Thanks @hartnn
